Easy Homemade Greek Yogurt!

Easy Homemade Greek Yogurt!

Who would have thought I would be making homemade yogurt?

Well. Me actually.

I remember my first small group after we moved down to Georgia. The discussion around the women’s table was “The moms who make their own baby food….” I sheepishly said, “Well. I do.” It’s easy really, and that’s what I told them. You cook the veggies and blend. Take the fruit and mash it up and serve.ย  Read More

Hello From The Other Side

Hello From The Other Side

Dear Mom at Walmart with 2 young children in the cart and one strapped to your chest,

Hello from the other side. {Go ahead. Sing it! Belt it out. You know you want to!} I promise, I know what it’s like to be in your shoes. I too, had ‘stair-step’ children, one right after the other. I know you get tired of the “Are they all yours?” Or the “You sure have your hands full!” While I was wandering around today before I saw you I even received a “Looks like they brought the whole school to the store!” As a matter of fact, we did. Because we homeschool. ๐Ÿ˜‰

5 Things Your FitBit Can’t Tell You

5 Things Your FitBit Can’t Tell You

I had a FitBit and loved the challenge of getting in my 10,000 steps a day! It was fun when it finally vibrated telling me I had accomplished one of my goals for the day. I love how on laundry day I did 25+ floors in a day. Yet, I found myself falling back into my old ways of getting stuck on numbers. A FitBit can be a great tool, but you have to know your bend as well.

Organizing My Homeschool

Organizing My Homeschool

Our official first day of school is tomorrow! We have a 4,2,1 and Kindergartener in the house. Homeschooling is a calling we have felt the Lord put on our life and as long as He has called us to it, we are going to do it!

This year brought a bit of a new challenge for me having 4 of our 5 officially in school. I knew I had to “get my stuff together” this year and really be organized. While I love planning, I’ve also had my share of struggles in keeping my homeschool organized. My plans work for the first few weeks of school, but soon I find myself in disarray.

I am a Recovering Sugar Addict

I am a Recovering Sugar Addict

I am a recovering sugar addict. Just a few months ago, I was actually able to say out loud to some girlfriends that I had an addiction to sugar. I knew it, but couldn’t say it before. God has been good, kind, gracious, and loving the sugar out of me! Even when I fall (as you’ll read below) He is still good and gentle to lead me in His ways.

Recovering Sugar Addict

On July 17th, I started a 21-day sugar detox. I am trying to stick to it and show myself grace all at the same time. A few months ago I realized that sugar was having its way with me. Then, over the 4th of July weekend and week, I just totally binged. I knew it and *gasp* didn’t even care. Friends, that’s a red flag when we KNOW what we are doing to our bodies and we DON’T CARE! I prayerfully consider a sugar detox because I wanted to do it for the right reasons. Not because some of my friends were doing it, but because it was truly a season God was calling me into. Read More
