World Changer {reach the nations}

Have you ever thought to yourself, “I want to change the world!”? Do you ever wonder how you can reach the nations with the gospel- when you’re stuck at your 9-5, or you homeschool, or your single and broke? I want to share with you today a way you can be a world changer, one happy mail package at a time!

I was introduced to Fair Trade Friday by a friend of mine. Fair Trade Friday exists as an avenue for women to empower women.  We are tackling poverty through dignified job opportunity, rather than enablement, in Jesus’ name. 100% of the proceeds support the artisans, thousands of women and their children around the world. FTF is a ministry of Mercy House Global, a non-profit organization.

World Changer

Each month, for a mere $33 for the FTF box, I receive a package of beautiful, handmade gifts. Along with my package, I receive a pamphlet or postcard with the information of the ladies who made the items. Every month, I cry. It amazes me how far my money will go in other countries. Here in the States, $33 can’t even buy you a fancy coffee every day of the week! I am receiving things like, purses, earrings, kimonos, leather clutches, and more!

These simple, elegant, lovely handmade gifts bring me to tears monthly. I tell Greg almost every month, “How do I NOT subscribe to Fair Trade Friday? My money does so much more for them than it does for me!” While there is the Fair Trade Friday box, there is also an earrings of the month and bracelet of the month club! Here is my collection so far:

The two necklaces on the right are NOT from Fair Trade Friday. The big one is from Israel, the other from my mother-in-law. 😉

If you aren’t ready to sign up for a monthly subscription, which can be cancelled at any time, Mercy Global House also has an option where you an shop with them! Mercy House exists to engage, empower and disciple women around the globe in Jesus’ name. Engage those with resources to say yes to the plight of women in poverty. Empower women and teenage mothers around the world through partnerships and sustainable fair trade product development. Disciple women to be lifelong followers of Jesus Christ. The artisans they work with are in 25 different countries and 55 faith-based non-profit organizations.

My few measly dollars every month help provide women with jobs of integrity! It helps these women provide for their families in a way that is honorable. That is worth giving up coffee for a week, isn’t it? I think it is! So go, love others, receive some beautiful handmade gifts in return, and then share it with your friends.
